Eunice Simmons

Professor Eunice Simmons is Vice-Chancellor and Principal at the University of Chester. She is an environmentalist by academic background and is on the Board of EAUC - the sustainability advocate for universities and colleges in the UK.

In her career she has championed Higher Education student access and success, and now chairs the national ‘What Works’ centre called TASO which researches how to Transform Access and Student Outcomes. Upon her appointment as Vice-Chancellor in January 2020, one of her first priorities was to establish the staff and student Race Equality Challenge Group which is making great progress addressing inequalities. She is also leading a wide-ranging review of how the University uses its space with the aim of achieving environmental, workplace and social improvements.
