View from the training room…

It’s been a challenging year for all of us in ways we couldn’t possibly have imagined. So how do we go about navigating times like this? We have been talking a lot in Grit about what we’ve learnt in lockdown and the positives we can take forward - like a stronger sense of purpose, alignment, our agility and our responsiveness to change. However, we also recognise that we are all feeling pretty fatigued, it is hard to manage without the joy of hanging out with people on the team, joking around together or just making small talk whilst we’re squeezing into our tiny kitchen on a tea break. Those things don’t translate well to zoom!

So I was thinking that many of you are probably sharing these experiences and feelings and that, perhaps, now would be a good time to hear from one of our trainers about how they have made use of the Grit approach to help them get through this strange old time. Maybe there is something in what Dionne has to say that will be helpful to you as we approach the end of an unusual year, I hope you’ll have a listen and enjoy connecting to the Grit methodology….

If you’re too busy to watch the full version you might want to watch these highlights that are each a couple of minutes long. They sum up some of the key points about coping in lockdown as well as which ‘Grit’ conversations have been most useful for us this year.

I really hope that - as we enter a time of year when we traditionally look forward to being together - watching or listening to these videos might remind you of some of the conversations you have been part of with Grit and help you find a constructive way to deal with ‘reality’.

Thank you all for being such a big part of our journey this year and for staying connected to what we are doing, thank you also for the overwhelming response we’ve had from you, volunteering to be digital coaches. We have such a great network of support and we appreciate it now more than ever.

Take care and stay safe,
